University of Southern Punjab Celebrates Third Consecutive Year of GreenMetric Excellence

The University of Southern Punjab (USP), Multan, has achieved another significant milestone in its journey toward environmental sustainability and institutional excellence, earning recognition in the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026 for the third consecutive year.

In the 2026 GreenMetric rankings, USP ranks 455th among universities worldwide, 15th in Pakistan, and 8th among private-sector universities in Pakistan. Most notably, the University has retained its position as the No. 1 private-sector university in South Punjab, reaffirming its growing leadership in sustainable campus development and environmental responsibility.

The achievement is particularly significant because the UI GreenMetric World University Rankings 2026 included 2,016 participating institutions worldwide. USP's continued presence in the ranking reflects sustained institutional efforts to create a greener, more environmentally responsible and sustainable university.

The University's progress over three consecutive years—2024, 2025, and 2026—shows that sustainability at USP is a continuing institutional commitment rather than a one-time initiative. Recognition reflects collective efforts to strengthen green infrastructure, environmental management, resource conservation, sustainable practices, and institutional governance.

This achievement has been warmly appreciated as a reflection of the strategic vision of the Honorable Chairman of the Board of Governors, whose leadership has created an enabling environment for institutional transformation and excellence. The University's Governance Team also deserves special recognition for translating this vision into effective institutional practices and measurable outcomes.

Special congratulations are also extended to the Director General/Registrar; the Director of Finance; the Director, Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC); the Director, Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC); and the Maintenance Wing of the university for their important contributions to strengthening documentation, quality systems, institutional data, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement processes that support international benchmarking and ranking exercises.
